Ratskeller Saalfeld

Totally spoiled.....!!!!!! ...our taste buds were treated to Martina's Ratskeller today. In the intimate togetherness of our gourmet hearts, we enjoyed the following delicacies from Saalfeld cuisine this afternoon: Overview of the dishes: 1. Cream of porcini mushroom soup 2. Beef roulade with Thuringian dumplings 3. Chicken steak “Strindberg” Andre's crushes in detail: (For such lovingly prepared dishes, I take extra time for the test report:) Basically, Martina's team is known for competence in every area. Experienced, quick, friendly and good-looking, we were satisfied in the rustic ambience of the time-honored Ratskeller. Yes, I replace the word "served" with the latter verb. Because that's exactly how our lunch trip to Saalfeld ended... Sated, completely satisfied with the superb cuisine of the “Zahn” house, which I love to feel when I'm nearby. Dear readers, When I saw the cream of porcini mushroom soup that was served to me, my heart palpitated; with the first spoonful, endorphins were released in a way that I only knew from many bedtime stories. This is not a 5-minute cream soup, this is a poem in honor of the porcini mushroom. What a house number!!!! No mushroom powder in the sauce thickener, this ode to German porcini mushroom manufacture, was interspersed with this delicacy, consisting of plenty of fruit from the delicious hat-wearer. Creamy and refined with garlic chips and chive rolls. I left the fresh baguette lying around so as not to alienate the taste. I literally fell in love with this soup🥰 The quantity was so filling that for the first time I couldn't finish my main course, which was a chicken steak "Strindberg". Covered in an onion-mustard crust, a juicy steak made from freshly plucked rooster or chicken flattered my spoiled palate. Mediterranean grilled tomatoes, with the best fried potatoes in Saalfeld... I would love to live in the Ratskeller for a week... Let's come to the roulade of my pretty companion: Roulade el Gigantes, a huge piece of craftsmanship from Ratskeller's kitchen. The cook must have studied it. Perfectly rolled, juicy meat, filled with a secret composition that still makes my mouth water. 5 stars red cabbage and real Thuringian dumplings of which I can say "Mom can't do any better..." We were there on Boxing Day. We were about 30 people. I have only heard positive things from my family about the food and the service. Our table (we were divided into two tables) was served by a very nice young man. He always asked if we had any drinks or if everything was OK. His young colleagues were also very friendly. Immediately after paying we said that we would definitely come back. Despite the fact that it was Christmas, where there is always a lot going on and there were such a large number of people, the team did a great job. I would also like to mention again that all of our food was very good and we didn't have to wait long. We were completely thrilled. Many thanks to the whole team.
